‘Vampire’ bar manager accused of rape tells court alleged victim agreed to be his ‘slave’
Luke McCarthy, 28, says he had a ‘master and slave’ relationship with an 18-year-old he is accused of raping
A BLOOD-drinking "vampire fetishist" accused of raping two women told a court both were willing partners.
Bar manager Luke McCarthy, 28, said he had a “master and slave” relationship with an 18-year-old he allegedly raped on two occasions.
He engaged in bondage discipline and sadomasochism (BDSM) with women, which he said meant: "A form of lifestyle of sexual activities which were not in a conventional manner.
"Being tied up, sensory deprivation, humiliation, things of that nature."
Sex toys he used included leather handcuffs, a riding crop, and a homemade bamboo whip.
But he said in police interviews that an 'Encyclopedia of Unusual Sex Positions' found by detectives in his home actually belonged to his parents and was "out of date."
Giving evidence before a jury at Southwark Crown Court for two hours, the dad-of-one said he had a master-slave relationship with an 18-year-old he is accused of raping on two occasions in 2009.
They drank each other's blood during one session in which he cut his shoulder and then cut her thigh.
McCarthy went on to say they discussed asphyxiation and later he pushed down his palm on her throat but he quickly stopped when she found it uncomfortable.
On another occasion he used blue surgical tape to tie her up, but denied ever locking her in a wardrobe.
He said: "Consent is a very big thing in the community because of the nature of the acts in question."
A second girl in her 20s he is accused of raping in 2012-13 liked being pinned down during sex, he insisted.
He claimed she would tell him to stop before urging him on again.
They had met at a Gothic fetish club in London called Club Anti Christ and had sex dozens of times.
"She owned various implements which she liked used upon her," he said.
"There was some degree of roughness.
"She liked to be pinned down which multiple times caused issues."
McCarthy denies four counts of rape against the two women.
A verdict is expected later in the week.
