Stuart was later found stabbed to death just metres from his house in Weybread, Suffolk on June 3, and his wife is still missing but presumed dead.

An international arrest warrant was issued and Qazimaj was arrested in June at a hotel in Luxembourg after being recognised by a member of staff.

The Court of Appeal in Luxembourg upheld the decision by the District Court to extradite him to the UK and he will be surrendered to British authorities on Thursday.

Qazimaj, of Tilbury, Essex, sparked an international manhunt when he fled the country following Stuart's death.

Suffolk Police subsequently applied for him to be extradited to the UK to answer questions about the murder and disappearance but he appealed the decision on July 7.

In a statement, Suffolk Police said: "Suffolk and Norfolk Constabulary Joint Major Investigation Team is aware of the decision made in Luxembourg and are working with colleagues on the continent to bring him back to the UK in due course.

"He will then be subject to legal process in the UK."
