Plane crashes into house ‘like a torpedo’ turning it into a fireball

A SMALL plane has "fallen out of the sky" and hit a home in a ball of fire, turning it into a towering inferno.
Dramatic footage of the crash in Joilet, Illinois, US, shows the aftermath of the scene, the property obscured by flames and smoke, and debris on the road.
The residents of the house, a woman and her dog, were inside when the plane hit it, but miraculously managed to escape unharmed.
Neighbours reported it looked like the plane was in distress before in crashed, and other said it was "like a torpedo" when it plummeted to earth.
According to the firefighters from the Plainfield Township Fire Protection District rushed to the scene on Thursday, and were able to get the blaze under control.
The condition of the pilot is not yet known, and police are trying to determine if he had any passengers.
According to eyewitness Violetta Stankus, she said the plane looked like it was “falling out of the sky.”

She told the Naperville Sun: “I said, 'God', and then it crashed, and I started screaming.”
To date there have been no reports of injuries on the ground.
Witnesses said the plane hit the house "like a torpedo" and exploded on impact.
Wreckage was thrown across the street and into the gardens of neighbouring homes.
Witness Andrew Scardina told CBS the plane was not in a good way before the crash, saying it took a "very sharp turn" and then nosedived toward the ground, hitting the two-storey house.
