The female ‘stalker who sent men to RAPE her ex-boyfriend’s pregnant wife and threatened to kill her unborn child’
Michelle Suzanne Hadley is accused of crimes so depraved she is being held on $1million bail and faces a sentence more often sought for murderers
HORRIFYING details have emerged of an obsessed stalker’s alleged campaign to destroy her ex-boyfriend and his pregnant wife.
Michelle Suzanne Hadley is accused of crimes so depraved she is being held on US$1 million bail and faces a life term in jail — a sentence more often sought for murderers than stalkers.
The highly educated 29-year-old Californian is accused of posing as her former fiance’s pregnant wife and posting “rape fantasy” advertisements on Craigslist, asking men to come to her house and attack her even if she “screamed or resisted,” prosecutors say.
Hadley also stalked the victim and threatened to kill her and her unborn child, sending her menacing messages via the Linked In social network, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
The full extent of the nightmare Hadley allegedly unleashed on the new wife of her former flame, a deputy with the US Marshal Service, was revealed this week when she appeared in court for the first time since her July 14 arrest.
Not only did Hadley solicit men for rape, she ensured them the best possible chance of success, providing the couple’s Anaheim address, photos of the wife and details of her daily routine, telling them to strike at times she knew the victim would be alone.
Prosecutors said “several” of the men who responded to the “rape ads” showed up at the victim’s home “with the intention of raping the victim but did not succeed.”
One of the men “physically attacked the victim before she was able to call for help”.
The man fled and is still being sought by police.
The couple has not been named because of the attempted rapes on the wife.
That incident led to an Anaheim Police Department investigation that resulted in Hadley’s arrest on June 24 and she was charged with stalking, threatening and impersonating the wife.
The couple’s respite didn’t last long: Hadley was freed a short time later after posting bail of $100,000, only to return to Craigslist to solicit men for rape almost immediately.
“While out of custody, the defendant is accused of repeatedly sending Jane Doe (as the wife is referred to in some court documents) threatening emails and resuming responses to ‘rape fantasy’ advertisements pretending to be the victim,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement on Monday.
“Hadley is accused of using increasingly violent language and threatening the victim’s life.”
The seriousness of the case is reflected in the 14 charges filed against Hadley.
They include six counts of attempted forcible rape, stalking, stalking with a restraining order, criminal threats, three counts of a secondary offence committed while released from custody and assault with intent to commit sexual offence during the commission of first-degree burglary.
She was also charged with misdemeanour violation of a protective/stay away order.
THE BUILD UP
Hadley, who has a degree in medieval studies and was an MBA student at Chapman University, dated her ex, the US deputy marshal, between 2013 and 2015.
They were serious enough to get engaged, buying a condominium together in August last year. Within a month, though, the relationship imploded. The couple argued over “a lack of intimacy” and Hadley’s alleged infidelity.
In court documents, the deputy said the pair split when Hadley embarked on an affair with a man she met online because, she told him, she was unhappy with his sexual performance.
In September last year, he took out a restraining order after Hadley started bombarding him and others with emails accusing him of sexually assaulted her.
It got to the point where he asked his mother to stay with them because he was too scared to be alone with her.
“She frequently tells me ‘I f***ing hate you’ and insults my manhood and sexuality,” the deputy stated in his restraining order application, adding: “most of our arguments end with (Hadley) self-medicating with an entire bottle of wine.”
He attached a barrage of “threatening” emails from Hadley.
“You know exactly how God, the Word of God, the Spirit of God are involved with the condo. We both do,” Hadley rants in a September 10, 2015 missive.
“Your end will come, and you will relinquish the keys to the earth. Earth is mine, and the title deed to earth belongs to me... There will be no resolution outside of court unless you are willing to bow before the Lord your God.
“If you are not, then prepare yourself Satan. So let it be written. So let it be done.”
According to court papers, Hadley told a therapy group she was attending that she feared for her life because of the deputy’s concealed carry (gun) permit, telling the group he had “lots of firearms” in his possession.
In another email, Hadley alleged the deputy pressured her “into having sex with a random man on video camera”.
Hadley mentions her mistake of moving in with him, “despite my very valid reservations about your character and conduct.
“You do not get any woman, let alone the woman you purport to love, drunk and find a random man for her to have sex with while you make a pornographic video of her.
“That is rape, which is against the law. Luckily, there are plenty of text messages and a video to prove that you and the man you found coerced me sexually.”
There is no evidence to suggest any truth to Hadley’s accusations.
‘I HOPE YOU ARE SCARED TO DEATH TOMORROW’
Soon after their breakup, the deputy found love with another woman. She got pregnant early on and the pair married.
It was at this point that Hadley’s alleged blackmail and abuse intensified into a terrifying stalker campaign against her ex-boyfriend’s new wife.
“Ms Hadley has been emailing me for over one week, repeatedly threatening my life, my marriage, my safety, and slandering my husband,” the woman stated in documents tendered to court.
“Ms Hadley has used over six different email addresses to contact me, despite a request to cease communication. I am now fearful of leaving my home, have had to delete my online presence, and am incredibly emotionally distressed.
“I am fearful of being ‘raped,’ ‘attacked,’ ‘killed.’ I have had to completely uproot my life, including missing work at a new job to quash this issue.
“The tone and tenor of these emails escalates and there seems no sign of stopping.”
Court papers reveal a cache of messages she received in May from a “Jason Ray” via the LinkedIn social network.
“MICHELLE WAS HIS ONE TRUE AND HONORED FIRST LOVE. YOU ARE NOTHING TO HIM,” the sender wrote.
Another message, dated May 25, begins: “There are legends that Adam had a wife before Eve who was named Lilith, but this is not found in the Bible.
“The legends vary significantly, but they all essentially agree that Lilith left Adam because she did not want to submit to him.
"According to the legends, Lilith was an evil, wicked woman who committed adultery with Satan and produced a race of evil creatures.”
On May 26, the wife wrote to “Jason Ray” telling him the game was up: “Michelle Hadley, I want you to please stop emailing me.”
Four days later, she received a message, allegedly from Hadley.
“I hope you are scared of death tomorrow. Be prepared. Don’t sleep, be watchful of the Daughters of God,” she allegedly wrote. “We will steal your child and we will watch as it dies.
“(He) is using you for everything. Don’t you see this? He is obsessed with me, I am his treasure princess, you are nothing. Watch your back tomorrow.”
‘SHE’S SCARED TO DEATH OF THIS GUY’
In a strange twist, Hadley’s father Michael has accused the deputy of framing his daughter in revenge for suing him for breach of settlement over their property.
He claims she left the deputy because he was “emotionally abusive” and used her passwords to hack into her computer to fabricate dozens of threatening emails from her various social media accounts.
“When she left the place she had nothing,” Mr Hadley told reporters this week.
“She showed up on our doorstep and that was all she wrote. She didn’t want to get anything out (of the condo). She just wanted to get away from him.
“She has been scared to death of this guy since the day she left him.”
Mr Hadley has vowed to clear his daughter’s name and prove that the deputy, not she, is the true villain.
