Who is Keisha Lance Bottoms?

Keisha Lance Bottoms, 52, is a lawyer and politician who was elected as Atlanta's 60th mayor back in 2017.

Before becoming mayor, the Georgia native served as a member of Atlanta City's Council, representing part of Southwest Atlanta.

Lance Bottoms shocked the Georgia political circle when she announced that she would not run for re-election only after one term and said it was "time to pass the baton on to someone else."

Many have speculated that this move is to pursue election in a higher position within the Georgia government, but nothing has been confirmed.

Derek W. Bottoms, is the husband of Keisha Lance Bottoms.

The two met back in 1991 at Georgia State University College of law during their freshman year. Three years late, the two tied to knot at Atlanta’s Ben Hill United Methodist Church.

For the past 21 years, Bottoms has worked with the Atlanta-based company Home Depot, where he is the Vice President of Employment Practices and Associate Relations.

Prior to his career with Home Depot, Bottoms worked as a law associate at Powell Goldstein for a little over five years.

In 1992, the couple adopted their first child Lance at just 6-months-old, he is now 20.

After Lance was adopted the couple then adopted Langston who is now 14, and twins Lennox and Lincoln who are now 10.
