Petrol prices drop for the first time in six months ending fears of Brexit jump
Morrisons has cut petrol prices by 2p per litre, dispelling fears of a post-Brexit fuel hike

PETROL prices are coming down for the first time in six months, ending fears Brexit would lead to hikes.
Morrisons will today spark a new fuel price war by cutting up to 2p off a litre, taking unleaded and diesel under £1.10 a litre in its 333 filling stations.
Rivals Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s are almost certain to follow suit.
Fuel specialists BP, Shell and Esso will have to react.

Experts thought fuel prices would rise after last month’s Leave vote as the Pound weakened against the dollar but wholesale prices are low enough to counteract it.
Roger Fogg, from Morrisons, said: “We want to pass on savings in time for the school holidays and we’ll continue to hold prices down as long as we can.”
Pump prices have not been cut since January. Average prices fell as low as 102p before rising in March when wholesale fuel prices went up due to global demand.
