British former world champion flying ace Kay Draper killed in cornfield glider crash
The 60-year-old was declared dead at the scene in Hampshire
A FORMER world champion hang-glider has been killed in a crash.
Kay Draper, 60, died when her glider plane plunged into a cornfield.
The occupational therapist won the first British women’s hang-gliding championships.
She was also a member of the Brit team that won the first European and world championships.
Kay, of Marlborough, Wilts, switched to flying gliders in the 1990s.

She was declared dead at the scene of the crash on the outskirts of the village of Bradley, Hants, on Thursday morning.
A British Gliding Association spokesman said: “The tragedy has shocked the gliding community.”
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has launched a probe.
