Driver ‘may have fallen asleep’ before crash which left Brit teen fighting for life and twelve injured after bus carrying Welsh tourists crashes in France

THE driver of a coach which crashed leaving a Brit teen fighting for their life 'may have fallen asleep' according to police.
Two teenagers were airlifted to hospital and 11 others were injured after the bus carrying Welsh tourists crashed in France.
The local deputy prefect in France, Laure Lebon, said "circumstances would suggest the driver fell asleep" but added that he was not speeding and had not been under the influence of drink or drugs, however no investigation has taken place yet.
Thirteen teens were injured after the bus toppled into a ditch on a stretch of motorway near Lons-le-Saunier, close to the Swiss border.
The bus, which was carrying 48 people and headed for Italy, crashed on its side on the busy stretch of road at around 11am this morning.
Most of those on board are thought to have been kids on summer camps between the ages of 14 and 17.
Two helicopters took the three seriously injured kids to hospital after the bus toppled on its side into a ditch.
Fifty firefighters are also on the scene.
Pupils from Cheltenham Bournside School are also thought to have been on board the coach.

The Foreign Office has said it is working with relevant local authorities in France.
A spokesman said: "We are providing support to a group of British nationals following a coach crash in France.
"We are in contact with the relevant local authorities."
French media reports the bus slid 250 metres from the motorway and claim the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Long queues have been reported on the motorway, but one lane is thought to have now reopened.
The coach was run by Express Motors in Caermafron, a family company operating in North Wales since 1909.
A spokesman for the company refused to comment.
Police are holding a press conference this afternoon.
