Jeremy Corbyn branded a ‘hypocrite’ as leaked figures reveal the Labour leader pays male staff more than female workers
Leftie leader wants small firms to publish salary details while he allows a huge gender wage gap in his inner circle
JEREMY Corbyn has been accused of blatant hypocrisy after it was revealed he pays his male staff much more than the female ones.
The Labour leader has demanded small firms publish details of their gender pay gap.
But leaked figures show a wide pay-gap in his office among his inner circle, including director of strategy Seumas Milne who is on £97,000.
Chief of staff Simon Fletcher was paid £102,000, but his political secretary Katy Clark was paid £65,000 and trade union liaison manager Nancy Platts earned £59,000.
Corbyn’s policy adviser Andrew Fisher earned £56,000, significantly more than events organiser Kat Fletcher who received £48,000.
Labour MP Jess Phillips told the Sunday Times: “Once again with Jeremy it is words instead of deeds.
“It looks hypocritical to preach about the importance of equal pay while putting men in senior roles with much higher salaries than the women - a further flaw in his alleged feminism. It’s not the first time he has failed to practise what he preaches.
“It is all well and good saying you are committed to these things but you have to show you are committed to them by your actions.”
Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron also called on Corbyn to close the gender pay back within Labour.

The revelation comes as it was revealed that £10 t-shirts organised by hard-left faction Momentum and sold to raise money for Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership campaign are made by poverty-stricken workers in Bangladesh, who earn just 30p an hour.
A spokesman for Momentum told the Mail on Sunday it had cancelled its orders with 3rd Rail, the company behind the t-shirts.
He added: “Momentum is dedicated to championing rights at work both at home and overseas. We want every worker to be in a trade union, and to enjoy the full protections that the International Labour Organisation recommends as minimum standards.
We will refuse to work with any supplier who does not uphold these standards.” .
Mr Corbyn’s leadership challenger Owen Smith has written to him to ask for his support in urging the Labour Party to hold at least one leadership hustings in each region of the country over the course of the campaign.
AIDE LED 'BREAK-INS'
SHADOW Chancellor John McDonnell confessed yesterday that his own office manager was responsible for “break-ins” at a Labour MP’s office.
Former Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Seema Malhotra complained in a letter to Speaker John Bercow.
The incident could spark a Commons inquiry.
Mr McDonnell said it was an “innocent mistake” and claimed Ms Malhotra later invited his manager to socialise with her and her staff.
But she tweeted: “Lies! Did not invite any of your staff to socialise with us — quite the opposite!”
