: "God knows what those girls were planning to do to the little girl. Thank God she was found safe and sound.

"I've been asking myself why children so young can do things like this and I still don't have an answer. Are they bored?

"I don't think so because when children are bored, they find a game to play with or knock on a friend's door. They don't take another child out to harm them."

Shortly before the kidnap the teens had shoplifted dummies, baby milk and a bottle - and lured the toddler away on the Metro to Gosforth Central Park, where they were found by police and arrested.

Denise spoke to the young girl's dad after noting the harrowing similarities between the Primark abduction case and her son's murder.

She said: "I felt his pain. It took me back to the pain I felt. It is so unreal. At the end of our [talk] I said to him, 'Thank God you've got your little one back safe and sound'.

She said: "You never get over it. James is constantly on my mind. I talk about him all the time as if he's still here.

"My other boys feel like they know him because I talk about him so much. But you never get over it. You just learn to live with it."

James Bulger was lured away from his mum's side at a Bootle shopping centre in 1993 by ten-year-olds Robert Thompson and Jon Venables.

His mutilated body was found on a railway line two-and-a-half miles away two days later and the youngsters were later convicted of his abduction and murder.

Denise is now aiming to bring out a safety device to protect children from being kidnapped.

Looking for investors to help her cause, she said: "If there is anyone who can help me do that, please get in contact."
