Cops hunt knifeman after two Brits seriously injured in Tenerife attack
The older of the two men was reportedly stabbed 8 times and is now in a serious condition in hospital
POLICE are hunting a man who stabbed two Brits on the holiday island of Tenerife.
One of the two men, a 45-year-old, is “very serious” in hospital after being knifed repeatedly in the resort of Los Cristianos last night. It is not known where he is from in the UK.
The second victim, a 32-year-old man from Birmingham, was less seriously injured but was also being treated at the same hospital in the island capital this morning.
Detectives are hunting a man seen fleeing the scene in a red-coloured Audi. They are understood to have identified him but have yet to make any arrests.
Police sources said the alleged knifeman was also British, although the car he drove had Russian numberplates.
An all-ports warning is in place to stop the suspect, who police have described as an identified 41-year-old man.
The motive for the crime is not yet clear, although it is understood officers are probing the possibility it may have been related to a settling of scores.
Neither of the victims have been named and only their initials released - P.F for the older man and J.T. for the younger male.

A spokesman for the National Police in Tenerife, which is leading the investigation, said: “I can confirm two British nationals are in hospital after being stabbed last night around 10.30pm in Los Cristianos
“One is 45 years old and the other 32. The older man is in a serious condition.
“No arrests have yet been made. We believe there was one attacker.”
Local reports said the car seen speeding off had UK number plates, and police confirmed the plates weren’t Spanish, instead suggest they were of a Russian origin.
The older man is said to have been stabbed up to eight times.
The scene of the stabbing - San Francisco Avenue - is only a short drive from the spot outside a bar in the Torviscas area of popular Adele Costa where a 53-year-old Brit died after a drunken fight with a father and son from the UK.
They were subsequently questioned in court by a judge probing them on suspicion of manslaughter.
The victim died after smashing his head on the pavement following a violent altercation between the three men.
It is not know if the pair held over the killing are in custody or have been released on bail.
