DONALD Trump will “turn on his family” and tell cops “don’t take me, take Melania” as prosecutors launch a criminal investigation into his business, disgraced lawyer Michael Cohen claims.
Earlier this week, the New York Attorney General’s Office confirmed the probe investigating the Organization is "no longer civil".
Cohen, who worked for Trump between 2006-2018, told that he expects the former president to turn on his family.
He said: "So when he will be asked about the Trump Organization’s finances, he will blame everyone else.
“He’s going to turn on his accountant and point the finger. He’s going to say ‘Don Jr handled that, Ivanka handled that. Melania. Don’t take me. Take Melania."
has compared the probe to a "witch hunt" and said Attorney General Letitia James should focus on tackling "real crime", reports.
In a statement, he said: “There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime. But make no mistake, that is exactly what is happening here.
“The Attorney General of New York literally campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump even before she knew anything about me.”

Investigators for both Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and New York Attorney General Letitia James are now conducting a joint probe.
They are examining whether Trump’s organization committed fraud by improperly manipulating its property values, pushing them up to secure bank loans, and writing them down to reduce taxes.
Former Acting Solicitor General warned that Trump and his children are all facing jail.
Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for the NY Attorney General's Office, told on Tuesday: "We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the Organization is no longer purely civil in nature.
“We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment."
The statement did not specify what exactly prompted turning the probe into a criminal one, but Letitia James's investigation into the organization has been ongoing since 2019.
James that her office had filed a suit to force the Trump Organization to comply with subpoenas related to the investigation into whether the former president's company inflated the value of its assets on financial statements.
The notice was sent in late April to attorneys representing the Trump Organization, the reports.
Vance's office said in court filings that it was investigating "possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct" at the Trump Organization.
The district attorney appears to be targeting Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, reports.

It was reported in the that the Manhattan District Attorney's office had filed a subpoena against Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School over $500,000 in fees for Weisselberg's grandchildren.
It's claimed the payments were made between 2012 and 2019 and checks were signed either by Weisselberg or Trump.
