A GUNMAN is on the loose after a horrific daylight shooting at a shopping centre in Sweden.

The victim was reportedly been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being shot in the leg.

The shopping mall in Malmo was evacuated as cops continued to hunt down the shooter.

Police officer Lotta Svensson newspaper Sydsvenskan: "It's messy in there, but a man is shot — probably in the leg. He has been taken to hospital."

Malmo is infamous for gun violence with feuding gangs clashing regularly.

The attack comes days after a gunman killed nine people — including seven teenagers — at a shopping centre in Munich, Germany.
