Furious father claims Nintendo game taught his eight-year-old daughter to say ‘C***’
British dad bins Mario & Sonic Rio 2016 Olympic Games over character's 'rude grunts'
A fuming father has banned his children from playing a Nintendo game after alleging that one character's grunts taught his daughter to say "C**T."
Steve Jones has thrown out his children's £50 Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games disk after his eight-year-old daughter started copying one of the characters, who repeatedly makes a sound similar to the C-word.
Steve, from Barnstaple, North Devon, is now demanding answers from Japanese game giant Nintendo, after he had to have a long conversation with Grace and his sons Alfie, six, Jack, 11, about not repeating the bad word.
He added: "They seemed to have no urgency with the email I had sent them.
"And when they did respond it was just a simple generic response advising us to be patient and that they would look into the matter."
The Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was released last month and is the fifth instalment on the Mario & Sonic series.
The game coincides with the Rio Olympics and features 17 events, including full team sports such as football, beach volleyball, as well the debut of rugby sevens.
All the sports are played by characters from both long-running computer game series, including Mario, Sonic, Luigi and Tails the Hedgehog.
Nintendo have been approached for a comment.
