Couples get more adventurous in bed after turning 50, sex researchers reveal

COUPLES get more adventurous in bed after turning 50, say sex researchers.
Inhibitions many had when younger are cast aside as sex looms larger in their lives thanks to more leisure time.
But they also face a new hurdle — the disapproval of grown-up kids.
The Fifty Shades of Grey-style antics among people approaching retirement continues long after they become pensioners, US and Israeli researchers found.
Many find sex helps them fill the void of no longer having a career.
Others use it to help them cope with moving to retirement or care homes — where they resent staff frowning like their kids.
Illinois University professor Liza Berdychevsky, one of those behind the study, said it was a myth that most older people give up on sex.
Figures show 91 per cent of men and 81 per cent of women remain sexually active in their 60s.

Prof Berdychevsky said: "Although some older adults reported abstaining from sexual activity due to health conditions or loss of interest, others refused to renounce activity.
“Ageist stereotypes that portray seniors as asexual were not going to become excuses to give up on life — or sex.”
