European manhunt launched to find suspect accused of ‘abducting British schoolgirl and fleeing to Spain’

Arrest warrant issued to track down man believed to have taken 15-year-old

DETECTIVES have launched a European Arrest Warrant for a 27-year-old man who has allegedly abducted a 15-year-old British schoolgirl and fled to Spain.

Elena Ciochina was last seen on Saturday at about 7pm when she left her home address in Newham, east London.

Cops believe she is with 27-year-old Ionut Gheorghe who was also last seen on Saturday.

He was caught on CCTV in Enfield withdrawing £250 from a cash point, at about 2.20pm but it is now feared the pair may have left the country and travelled to Spain.

Detectives believe they are currently in the Guadalajara area of Spain, near to Madrid.

A European Arrest Warrant is now in place for Gheorghe for abducting the teenager.

Elena is described as 1.75m tall, with waist-length black hair. She was wearing a black t-shirt, black jogging bottoms and black plimsolls. It is believed she is in possession of a Romanian identity card.

Gheorghe is described as white, about 1.70m tall, of heavy build with short light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-Shirt, dark shorts and dark coloured flip-flops.
