Up to 20million Brits could be eligible for mortgages designed especially for Armed Forces families
Military Mutual is extending its business into mortgages after launching as an insurer for services personnel last year
AN INSURER selling products specifically for the Armed Forces family is to start offering mortgages too.
The Military Mutual, a non-profit firm, was launched last year to combat the “very real” practical problems facing troops and their immediate family.
Their research found the needs of 33 per cent of ‘the military family’ are not met by conventional insurers.
Frequent house moves, failure to cover accidents on deployment and postings overseas are the main woes affecting tens of thousands of serving troops.
But now The Military Mutual – in which customers are members – is challenging the big insurers with a range of made to measure services for soldiers, sailors and airmen.
The business is open not just to current personnel but now anyone with a relative who has served - which could be as many as 20million Brits.
