VLADIMIR Putin has launched a secret propaganda assault on Britain by infiltrating our top universities.
The Russian President is also suspected of trying to sabotage US Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
The Kremlin was last night reported to have placed Moscow-inspired language and cultural centres on elite UK campuses.
The University of Edinburgh is said to have accepted £221,000 from the Russian World Foundation to host Britain’s first cultural centre.

A further £85,000 was paid to Durham University and a centre has been opened in St Antony’s College in Oxford.
An Edinburgh University spokesman said it was “part of our wider commitment to increasing the understanding of different parts of the world”.
Moscow’s Sputnik news agency has also been spreading disinformation from its new HQ in Edinburgh.
It has claimed Labour MP Jo Cox was killed by EU supporters to sway the referendum result.
US cyber-security experts accused Moscow of hacking computer servers of the Democratic National Committee.
It has led to suspicions Russia is trying to gather support for rival Donald Trump.
