Corbyn comes out of his shell as he appoints ex-fishmonger his style guru
Labour leader ditches ill-fitting clothes and steps out in £150 Ralph Lauren jacket after putting Gavin Sibthorpe in charge of his look
LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn has had an image overhaul - and this week stepped out in trendy £150 Ralph Lauren jacket.
The embattled MP for Islington North appears to have ditched his misfitting shell suit and £1.50 market-stall vest after employing the help of one of his team as his style guru...a former fishmonger.
Just this month, events officer Gavin Sibthorpe dressed the once-scruffy 67-year-old in what appeared to be two new suits.
He looked surprisingly dapper at First World War memorial service in France on July 1 in a dark suit and smart blue tie.
On July 13, he donned a new trendy, fitted blue suit at Prime Minister’s Question Time while on Wednesday he was snapped in a fashionable beige Harrington Ralph Lauren jacket.
Sun Fashion Editor Joely Chilcot said:”It is a phrase I never thought I would say: Jeremy Corbyn is looking good.
“Having berated his scruffy attire numerous times over the last few months, his recent outings have not made me wince at all.
“Gone are his 1970s catalogue clobber, crumpled outfits and ill-fitting shell suits, and in their place are crisp shirts and sharp suits.
“And, dare I say it? Corbyn is actually on-trend.
“His £150 Ralph Lauren Harrington jacket is a wardrobe staple that is having a moment thanks to the nineties trend making a comeback.”
