“I’m easy going”, insists woman accused of stabbing love rival to death with ‘demonic’ savagery

Sarah Williams also claims she's not "aggressive at all" as she takes to the stand in Sadie Hartley murder trial

A WOMAN accused of stabbing her love rival to death with "demonic" savagery has described herself as "easy going" during her first appearance on the stand.

Sarah Williams, 34, who denies murdering businesswoman Sadie Hartley in her Lancashire home earlier this year, said "she got on with people easily".

Speaking at Preston Crown Court she also insisted she was not "aggressive at all".

Williams, a customer sales adviser at Crystal Ski Holidays, is accused alongside pal Katrina Walsh of

the brutal murder of the mother-of-two.

She is said to have incapacitated Ms Hartley with a stun gun before stabbing her more than 40 times.

It is alleged she carried out the killing after she was dumped by Hartley's lover Ian Johnston, who she had been having a fling with.

The jury heard her describe her friend as "well educated, extremely intelligent, eccentric and very different from 'the norm'."

Williams also told the jury that, aged 13, while cycling back from a riding school, she was grabbed by a man in a car, thrown in the boot, abducted for six hours and assaulted.
The culprits have never been found, the court heard.
When she was 17 she met Mr Hardwick, and, though he was 57 at the time, through a mutual love of horses, a relationship developed and she fell in love.

He gave her a monthly allowance, free fuel for her car, skiing holidays and a £75,000 deposit for one house, the court heard.

She denied prosecution claims she had attempted to recruit Walsh's ex-husband into the alleged murder plot in August 2015.

Asked if she spoke or communicated with him in any way she replied: "No".

At the time Williams was also in a relationship with "sugar daddy" David Hardwick, 75.

The court heard how she was "able to deal" with the fact that he was married.

She also revealed that she was due to go skiing in Canada with Hardwick in early February and again in early March.

The court also heard Williams had a relationship with a second ski instructor who was married with two children.

The court heard that during their relationship Williams believed she may be pregnant and sent Somapat Sitiwatjana a baby scan picture she had been sent by a friend.

She also admitted sending Mr Sitiwatjana’s wife a letter in which she called him a ‘liar, a cheat and a b*****d’ in May 2012.

She says it was hand delivered by Kit Walsh.

She admits the letter ‘was vengeful in a way’ but ‘I thought she (his wife) should know the way he behaved and the way he treated people.’

However she denies sending his wife a text saying her husband was ‘s******g his way around the world.’
