Young adults hooked on Tinder ‘have less sex than their parents’ and spend so long online there is NO time for romps
One in seven aged 20 to 24 do not have any romps
YOUNG adults hooked on dating apps are having less sex than their parents’ generation, a huge study says.
One in seven aged 20 to 24 now do not have any romps, compared to one in 17 of those born in the late Sixties.
Experts claim “hook-up” apps like Tinder may be to blame as people spend so long online there is no time for sex.
Better sex education, awareness of STIs, and the number of adults living with parents are also factors.
Women today are more than twice as likely not to have sex between age 20 to 24 as their parents at that age.
The figure for men was almost the same as for parents.
Professor Jean Twenge, whose team at San Diego State University studied 26,707 adults, said dating apps should “help young adults find sexual partners more easily”.

Another study said school teens romp less. Half did in 1991 and just 41 per cent today.
