Facebook generation having LESS rumpy pumpy than their PARENTS
Shock study shows millennials are not capitalising on the promiscuity potential of modern hook up apps
The Tinder generation should be able to arrange a spot of sexual congress with about the same amount of effort it once took their parents to call directory enquiries.
But it turns out millennials are actually having LESS sex than mum and dad, despite having all manner of tools specifically designed to help them "hook up".
A study of American grown-ups found youngsters were " forgoing sex during young adulthood".
"This study really contradicts the widespread notion that Millennials are the 'hookup' generation, which is popularised by dating apps like Tinder and others, suggesting that they are just looking for quick relationships and frequent casual sex," said Ryne Sherman, associate professor of psychology Florida Atlantic University.
"Our data show that this doesn't seem to be the case at all and that Millennials are not more promiscuous than their predecessors."
Millennials born in the early 1990s were "significantly more likely to report no sexual partners" after reaching the age of 18, with 15 percent of Americans aged 20 to 24 reporting a sex drought compared to to just six percent of people of people born in the 1960s, who are known as Generation X.
"The only other generation that showed a higher rate of sexual inactivity were those born in the 1920s," the University of Florida added.
It would appear the millennials are fast shaping up to be the most boring generation of all time, preferring to share endless pictures of their soy lattes rather than cause anarchy in the UK or anywhere else, for that matter.

But along with this dullness comes , allowing youngsters to choose their own path through life and then feel totally happy about it.
The latest research shows that this attitude stretches into the bedroom, where sexy young things are less inclined to be pressured into erotic acts their parents would have just endured whilst "thinking of Britain".
"While attitudes about premarital sex have become more permissive over time, rise in individualism allows young American adults to have permissive attitudes without feeling the pressure to conform in their own behaviour," Sherman added.
