Sick vandals steal toys left at grave of two-year-old boy who died after choking on a grape
THE family of a toddler who tragically died have told of their anguish after vandals keep stealing items from his grave.
Jacob Jenkins, 2, died in October last year after choking on a grape during an outing to Pizza Hut with his parents.
The toddler’s death touched the whole town, with well-wishers raising £20,000 for his family.
Hundreds also lined the street for his funeral.
But since then more than 13 items have gone missing from his graveside – including his favourite teddy.
Distraught mum Abigail Wilson, 24, left the stuffed meerkat toy at her son’s final resting place in Hartlepool.
But heartless hoodlums made off with the irreplaceable teddy – along with 12 solar lights which the family placed around the grave.
Dad David, 31, explained: “Abigail is distraught – she doesn't like the idea of him being in the dark, so as soon as the lights go we have to replace them.”

Six of the lights disappeared from the plot two months ago and another six were taken last week after Jacob’s devastated parents bought more.
Now the tragic tot’s mum and dad are urging the local council to install more CCTV cameras in order to protect the graves.
Asbestos worker David said: “We feel like Jacob is being targeted – it's not nice.
“I have been on to the council about putting cameras up but they say the area is too big.
“I think if the council can pay £40,000 to get some daft building demolished – why can't they put a few cameras up?”
A Hartlepool Borough Council spokesperson said: “Theft from a grave is a despicable act and we can fully understand the family's frustration.
“We do have CCTV within the cemetery, but it is a very large site.
“Council staff working at the cemetery are asked to be vigilant at all times and we would also appeal to visitors to report any theft or suspicious behaviour to us.”
The family have set up a petition page, which can be visited at .
