Horrific moment PREGNANT woman is sent flying by ‘drink-driver’ as she walked across zebra crossing

The woman assumed the car was slowing down and starts to run when she realises it isn't

THIS is the horrifying moment a pregnant woman was knocked flying into the air by an alleged drink driver as she walked on a zebra crossing.

She is flung up into the air after she is hit by the car in the heart-stopping footage captured by another driver's dashcam.

The shocking incident took place in Syktyvkar,Russia, as the 28-year-old mum-to-be walked out into the road.

She is seen walking half way across before starting to run as she realises she is in the path of an oncoming car which is not slowing down.

But she does not make it and it struck by the car and flipped into the air before she lands on the road behind the car.

Other cars pull over to check on her after the horrific accident.

According to Russian news reports, the woman in four months pregnant.

She was taken swiftly to hospital with a serious head injury and so far doctors have managed to keep her from losing the baby.

Medics are unable to say if she or the baby will have any lasting damage from the accident.

The driver, thought to be drunk, was arrested by police and held for 24 hours but released.
