Shop worker in court accused of spiking his boss with VIAGRA for an April Fool’s Day prank
A HOME store shop worker has appeared in court charged with spiking his boss with Viagra.
Benjamin Chope, 24, is accused of slipping Daniel Webber the sex drug in an April Fool’s Day prank.
Chope, of Newton Abbot, Devon, did not enter a plea when he appeared before JPs in relation to the incident dating back to 1 April this year.
But Torbay magistrates in south Devon decided the case was so serious that it must be tried at Exeter crown court.
The 24-year-old is charged with unlawfully and maliciously administering a poison or other destructive or noxious substance – namely Sildenafil, the medical name for Viagra.
The substance was administered with intent to injure aggrieve and annoy Mr Webber, a court was told.
Chope is set to appear before a judge in three weeks’ time.
He was granted bail on the condition he doesn’t try to contact his former boss or go to Home Bargains store in Kingsteignton, Devon.
