First pictures of young rapper who was stabbed to death at London flat bash

Paramedics frantically attempted to save the boy's life but tragically he died before he could be taken to hospital

COPS have launched a murder investigation after a 16-year-old rapper was stabbed to death outside a house party on a street in south London.

Officers were called after reports of a disturbance on Colgrove Road in Peckham, south London, shortly after 7pm last night

The victim has been named locally as 16-year-old rapper Showkey

Grime artist Giggs tweeted his grief at the news of the tragic loss of a young life and talent

The boy, who has yet to be formally identified, has been named locally as the young rapper Showky – a friend of the Myron Yarde, 17, who went by the name MDot.

Myron was found in a pool of his own blood after being stabbed in a street in nearby Lewisham.

Pictures of the two teenage rappers have been shared on Facebook this morning (Sat), with tributes pouring in for Showky.

Andrew Bogle wrote on Facebook: “Another young person’s life taken. This is about the fifth this week, it’s really sad and I’m not sure what is being done to tackle the problem. RIP Showkey.”

Fend Dizzle wrote: “It’s a shame another young talent got wasted. R.I.P Showkey – man used to listen to this lil’ don.”

He was found with stab wounds to his upper body and despite the best efforts of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance, he died at the scene.

No arrests have yet been made but the Met Police said that an investigation is ongoing.

A spokesman said: “Police in Southwark were called to Colegrove Road at 7.19pm on Friday, 5 August following reports of a disturbance.

“Officers attended and found a male youth, believed to be aged 16, suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.

“London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended. The teenager died at the scene a short while later.

“Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification awaits.

“A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

“Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are now investigating.

“A crime scene remains in place and a number of weapons have been recovered by investigating officers.

“It is understood that a large house party was taking place at the time of the incident and detectives are appealing for all witnesses and anyone with information to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

A man living on Colgrove Road who declined to be named, said: “I only heard about it from my wife when I got home last night.

“There were loads of people around and lots of kids out in the street, but I didn’t see anything else.

“It was very, very busy, but I have no idea what happened. I only heard that someone was killed from the news.

The police haven’t knocked on my door, but there is still police tape up.”
