A MASSIVE blaze has erupted at a building site for a £285million block of luxury flats in Dubai.
Dramatic footage shows the inferno tearing through the partially-constructed Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village.
Thick, black smoke can be seen engulfing the building and billowing into the sky as the fire rages.
It has not yet been confirmed how the blaze started but it is now reported to be under control.
The 60-storey tower was due to be completed in 2018 and was set to become one of the city’s top destinations for the rich and famous.
But it is unclear what damage was done to the building by the fire and how much it will set the project back by.
Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village will feature 247 hotel rooms and suites, 221 one-and-two bedroom apartments and 33 four-bedroom apartments with private pools.
According to developers Skai Holdings, the property will feature over half-a-million sq ft of flora, balcony gardens and a whopping 271 swimming pools.
The flashy development will also include five dining venues – an all-day restaurant, lobby café, pool bar, sports bar and a rooftop Chinese restaurant.
There will also be a gym, fitness centre, outdoor yoga terrace, large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and boutique spa.
