How much have Stake.com paid to sponsor Watford FC?
Watford confirmed they signed a “club record deal” with their new shirt sponsor in 2021 after the company reportedly paid in cryptocurrency.
The Premier League outfit did not disclose which cryptocurrency the deal was done with, or how much it was worth in pounds.
It followed a similar deal the club struck with crypto-based betting firm Sportsbet.io. in 2019.
The partnership saw Watford’s kit during the 2019/2020 season emblazoned with the infamous Bitcoin “B” logo alongside the club accepting Bitcoin as a payment for its merchandise.
“We are thrilled to welcome Stake as our principal shirt sponsor ahead of the 2021/22 season,” said Scott Duxbury, Watford FC Chairman & CEO.
“This will be an extremely exciting campaign for the club as we return to the Premier League and we couldn’t be happier to join with a partner who match our ambitious outlook and commitment to innovation in order to achieve success.”
To commemorate the beginning of the partnership, Stake have confirmed that they will giveaway 10 million Dogecoin (DOGE) on their international platform.
Stake are set to launch a UK platform at Stake.uk.com offering UK customers access to a range of sports betting, casino and gaming experiences, as well as special promotions for Watford fans.
