His family and friends had joined searchers but police said they found his body in the water this morning.

Police would not confirm it was Nathan who had been found but his family were being informed.

Earlier his desperate brother Shane, 25, had taken to social media to rally people to find his younger brother.

He wrote:"We need all the help we can get."

And Nathan's mum Amanda Retter, 47, had also urged people to help find her son who lived in Compton near Paignton, Devon.

A pal said:"She wants people to keep looking."

A post mortem will be carried out this week.

The powerful hallucinogen N bomb - also called Smiley Paper or Bom-25 - creates an effect similar to LSD at extremely small dosages.

According to drug advice website Frank, N-Bombs are powerful hallucinogens, similar to LSD, which changes the way users see objects and reality.

Other websites report the negative and after-effects of the drug are worse than that of LSD, and a high dose can be the size of just six small grains of regular table salt.

The Government banned N-Bomb and made it a Class A drug in June 2014.

Jake Harris, 21, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, died after taking the drug when he stabbed himself in the neck with a broken wine glass before throwing himself out the window, in May 2013.

Inspector Tracy Sharam said Nathan, from Paignton, Devon, was seen running towards the river but was not seen going into the water.

She said:"He was seen running through a field near the school and although no one actually saw him enter the water, his friends heard a splash.

"Officers have been searching the area including the river - however he has not yet been found.
