Amanda Knox says she’s pregnant on podcast weeks after revealing miscarriage and calling loss ‘a betrayal’

AMANDA Knox announced that she is pregnant on her podcast, just weeks after revealing that she suffered a miscarriage.

An audio clip at the end of the most recent episode of Labyrinths heard Knox looking at a pregnancy test, hoping for "three bars." Upon seeing the positive sign, she could be heard repeatedly shouting "yes."

"Thank goodness, we did it!" Knox exclaimed.

Knox and her husband Christopher Robinson then revealed that they are launching a new "mini-series" where they will talk about their journey.

"That's right, we're pregnant, and we've been recording audio of our own experience since day one. Stay tuned for our next mini-series, 280 days, where we take you on an intimate journey from conception to birth."

It comes just one month after Knox revealed that she suffered a devastating miscarriage, detailing the horror of inducing a painful birth after her baby's death.

She tweeted: "Season 2 of Labyrinths premieres today with episode 1 of a 5-part miniseries on infertility. In today’s episode, I bare my soul about my recent miscarriage."

Knox, who was acquitted in the murder of former room mate Meredith Kercher by the Italian supreme court in 2015, said: "We sat with the miscarriage for a while trying and failing to be ok. It didn’t have a heartbeat."

Knox, who married Robinson in 2018, added: "We thought it was a straight line from unprotected sex to baby.

"It was abdominal pain like I have not experience before. I was shaking."

Knox added: "I thought I knew exactly what I want to do with my first pregnancy and have it not come to fruition, not through choice, felt like a betrayal.

"Do I have bad eggs am I too old? Did something happen to me while I was in Italy?

"You remain haunted by the life that never was.

"As soon as I learned it wasn’t alive, I tried to divorce those two ideas in my head, that was not my baby, it doesn’t have a name.

"It was just your baby for that amount of time, we already had a baby it was just only six weeks old, whose that baby? I don’t know that baby, I don’t think I ever will."

She describes painting a mural in the baby's room and cries as she recalls telling their moms: "I could tell she wanted to hug me but I just couldn’t.

"It’s Covid and we’re not supposed to hug each other."

'IT BECAME MORE WORK'

Knox added: "It became more work, tracking periods, no alcohol, this is science.

"It’s not a fun thing like it was before, fun painting the baby room."

In September 2007, Meredith had just moved to Perugia in central Italy where she was studying at the city's prestigious university. She was murdered two months later.

Knox, who is now an activist against wrongful conviction, and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 36, were released from prison in 2011 following an appeal against their conviction.

Rudy Guede is the only person handed a final conviction in connection to the case. He was released from prison at the end of last year.

Guede was convicted in 2008 for the killing of the 21-year-old Brit Meredith.

In 2010, Italy's top appeal court upheld a 16-year sentence for him in a ruling that said he did not act alone.

Guede will fully complete his sentence in March 2022.

Knox would be later acquitted twice of the crime after spending four years in an Italian prison.

She returned to the US after her murder conviction for the killing of Meredith was overturned.

Because Knox refused to return to Italy, she was retried and convicted again but the Italian supreme court overturned her second conviction in 2015.

Knox now lives in Seattle with her husband and musician Colin Sutherland and has featured in a Netflix series about her case.

She also returned to Italy in 2019 to appear at a criminal justice festival, where she reportedly told the crowd “she fears more charges” despite being cleared.
