Britain’s biggest fry-up packs 150 items and 17k calories – could you eat it?
BRITAIN’S biggest fry-up was unveiled yesterday – containing a whopping 150 items and a colossal 17,000 calories.
And any diners hungry enough to devour the lot in under an hour will get the gigantic £50 belt-popping feast for free.
It includes 15 of every item, including bacon, jumbo sausages, hash browns, fried eggs, black pudding, toast, fried bread and mushrooms.
There is even room for 15 portions of baked beans and tinned tomatoes.
The tray carrying the grub even weighs a staggering 20lbs.
Cafe bosses at Shepherds Place Farm in Doncaster, South Yorks, created the monster breakfast and have dubbed it the ‘Terminator Armageddon’.
Owner Ted Phillips told The Sun: “It’s officially the biggest breakfast in the UK. I have already had messages from competitive eaters in the US who are desperate to get over and give the challenge their best shot.
“We’ve been developing our breakfast challenges over the years until we got to where we are today. We are renowned for our breakfasts and we are proud to now be the home of the largest breakfast in the UK.
‘People travel from all over the country’
“I’d seen a few food challenges in the US and on programs such as Man VS Food. But I thought that I hadn’t seen many happening in this country so I started doing them.
“They are so popular with our customers and we have had people travel from all over the country to give our breakfast challenges a go.
“So I look forward to welcoming even more people to try out the new Terminator Armageddon challenge.”
Ted insists on using only quality ingredients when the fry-up is put together.
I don’t know how anyone will be able to finish this just for the sheer amount of sausages.
Cafe owner Ted Phillips
He added: “It takes about 20 minutes to fry it all off.
“We’re actually using huge sausages which are double the size of the regular sausages that we use so it is the equivalent of 30 bangers.
“To be honest I don’t know how anyone will be able to finish this just for the sheer amount of sausages.”
He said people from all over the country were travelling to the cafe to take on the challenge.
He previously served up a Terminator III breakfast which weighed one stone, had 135 items and contained 13,000 calories.
