Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said the bomb, which was packed with about 4kgs of explosives, had been planted under a bridge.

He said: "Balochistan Federal Shariat Court Judge Zahoor Shawani was the target.

"His ATF squad was injured."

Security officials were called to the scene to collected evidence while .

The explosion comes just days after the emergency wards at Quetta's Civil Hospital was targeted, with more than 70 people - mostly lawyers and journalists - killed in the attack.

The large group had been visiting the hospital after prominent lawyer Bilal Anwar Kasi was shot and killed on Monday morning.

The lawyer, the president of the Balochistan Bar Association, had been shot dead while on his way to a Quetta courtroom.

The Pakistani Taliban faction Jamaat-ur-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the deadly attack earlier in the week.

"The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat-ur-Ahrar takes responsibility for this attack, and pledges to continue carrying out such attacks. We will release a video report on this soon," spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said in an email, Reuters reported.

The Islamist movement is the same that carried out the Easter Day bombing the eastern city of Lahore in March that killed 72 people, many of them children, in a crowded park.

The attack was also condemned by President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

A video of the Monday morning attack emerged soon after the attack, showing a large number of people standing near the hospital.

But an explosion rips through the quiet scene, leaving the hundreds of people screaming with terror.

The Balochistan government announced three days of mourning for the victims of the hospital terrorist attack, which is one of the deadliest in the country's history.
