Cops cordon off section of Hyde Park near Speakers’ Corner after body is found
Officers at popular tourist spot as serious investigation launched
COPS have cordoned off an area the size of two football pitches in Hyde Park after a man's body was found early this morning.
Officers were called to the popular London tourist spot at 5.50am today after a member of the public found a man with injuries close to Speakers' Corner. The man had died by the time police arrived.
A blue and white tent has now been put up over the body, which was found between two trees, close to a public toilet.
Police have set up a cordon following what an officer at the scene called an "unexplained death".
It is thought the body is that of a white, middle-aged man.
A police spokesman said: “Police in Westminster were called to Hyde Park, W2 at 05:50hrs on Friday, 12 August, following concerns for a man.
“Officers attended and found a man deceased. This incident is being treated as suspicious.
"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.
“Police in Westminster continue to deal.”
