SHAMEFUL festival-goers were too lazy to take their tents home from Reading yesterday and left huge amounts of rubbish - including beer cans, drugs paraphernalia and broken false teeth.

Shocking pictures showed thousands of tents left dumped in the festival site at Little John's Farm - and the majority are now set for landfill.

The revellers have since been blasted by Clean Up Britain founder John Read, who said: “Leaving behind tents seems like self-indulgent, 'first world' and lazy behaviour.

“All of us must become more aware of the need to protect and cherish the environment. Dumping perfectly good tents runs contrary to this.”

A large clean-up operation is now fully underway and environmentalists estimate it can take between 1,000 and 10,000 years to fully decompose a tent.

Reading Festival took place over the August bank holiday weekend, with performers including rappers Stormzy and AJ Tracey, singer Liam Gallagher and rock band Biffy Clyro.
