Aiden Fucci LIVE updates – ‘Killer’ teen charged with murder of Tristyn Bailey & his mom Crystal Smith in court today




AIDEN Fucci and his mother, Crystal Smith, are both scheduled to appear in court today.

Fucci has been charged with murder over the brutal death of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey. He faces a pretrial hearing on Wednesday morning.

 was found dead in woodland near Fucci's home on Mother's Day having been  after her family reported her missing.

Fucci, , told cops an argument erupted between the pair as they walked back from a friend's house in the early hours of the morning.

Another shocking video released by the State Attorney's Office on Tuesday shows what investigators allege is , washing blood off of her son's jeans.

She allegedly washed the trousers while her son was being interviewed by deputies.

After the jeans and a drain in his home tested positive for blood, Smith was charged with evidence tampering in connection with Bailey's death.

    Fucci arrives for his court appearanced over Zoom at the St John's County Courthouse seemingly looking confused as he glanced around the room, rocked in his chair, and fixed his hair waiting for the proceedings to begin.

    Fucci, , told cops an argument erupted between the pair as they walked back from a friend's house in the early hours of the morning.

    He was previously facing second-degree murder charges, but they were upped on May 27.

    On July 23, Smith entered a written plea of not guilty for the evidence tampering charge connected to Bailey's killing.

    The 35-year-old mother was originally scheduled to appear in court Monday, July 26, but entered the written plea instead.

    Her next court date is scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, the same day her son is set to appear in court.

  • WHY WAS FUCCI'S MOTHER ARRESTED?

    , 35, turned herself in and was arrested for tampering with evidence, which is considered a third-degree felony in .

    According to investigators, Smith reportedly tried to wash the blood off of Fucci’s jeans hours after Bailey was allegedly stabbed to death.

    She was released shortly after her arrest on a $25,000 bond.

  • BAILEY'S COUSIN HOPES FUCCI CONFESSES

    Tristyn's cousin, Connie Stull,  that she hopes Fucci confesses.

    Asked if she hopes he comes clean, she replied: "Yes I do. I have cried my eyes out.

    "I looked him [Fucci] up on Facebook, but there are too many. I'm happy they made an arrest and hope they try him as an adult.

    "Tristyn was a sweetheart, she loved cheerleading, I'm an emotional wreck, my husband and I didn't sleep well last night."

  • WHAT GRADE WERE THEY BOTH IN?

    , in eighth grade at the school, was  on May 10, 2021, one day after the body of seventh-grader Tristyn was found.

    Few details have been released about how well they knew each other.

  • WHERE DID FUCCI AND BAILEY GO TO SCHOOL?

     and Tristyn Bailey both attended Patriot Oaks Academy in St Johns County.

    Patriot Oaks Academy runs from kindergarten to eighth grade and serves about 1,500 students.

    According to its website, the school contains a community that "fosters character development, independence and a lifelong love of learning."

    The school was one of two new ones to open in 2014 in St John's County. Valley Ridge Academy also launched the same year.

  • SUSPECTED MURDER WEAPON MISSING A TIP

    Investigators recovered what they believed to be the murder weapon, a folding buck knife, in a pond near to Tristyn's body.

    Larizza said that the blade was "missing a tip", which medical examiners found lodged in Tristyn's scalp.

    He added that the knife found “could have multiple uses” including hunting.

  • UNKNOWN IF KILLING WAS SEXUALLY MOTIVATED

    Larizza refused to disclose whether the killing was sexually motivated, or whether Tristyn had been sexually assaulted during the murder.

  • NO OTHER SUSPECTS

    None of the others who were with the pair the night Tristyn died are suspected of wrongdoing.

    But, the prosecutor voiced frustration that Fucci's alleged plans to commit homicide were "not taken seriously" when he confessed them to "several" of his peers.

    "Could this have been prevented? We can't be sure," he said, adding that the murder should serve as a cautionary tale to parents that they "need to know what your kids are doing and saying."

    On the night of Tristyn's death, the pair were believed to have been hanging out with a few mutual friends, before they were eventually left alone together.

    However, prosecutors currently say there is no evidence to suggest that Fucci specifically targeted Tristyn beforehand.

    Larizza said: "This could just be a case of wrong place, wrong time."

  • WHAT DID FLORIDA ATTORNEY SAY ABOUT HIS MOTIVE?

    On May 27, Florida attorney R.J. Larizza announced that prosecutors would be charging Fucci as an adult on first degree murder.

    He described how had told friends that he was going to kill someone within the next 30 days, leading to accusations that the act was premeditated.

  • WHY DID FUCCI ALLEGEDLY KILL BAILEY?

    Prior to Fucci’s first court appearance, Sheriff Robert Hardwick told WOKV that the image shows he is “.”

    However, early indications suggested that he was not known to have had any prior grievances with Bailey.

    “This is a cold-blooded murder by an individual who, I’m not even gonna give his name. He doesn’t even deserve for his name to be mentioned,” Sheriff Rob Hardwick said during a press conference earlier this month.

  • LAST SEEN

    Tristyn was last seen Sunday, May 9 at roughly 1.15am near the North Amenity Center, according to reports.

    She was reported missing by her family at 10am on Sunday morning beginning a 16 hour search for the teenager.

    Her body was found later that day by a neighbor in the woods near her Durbin Crossing home.

    Larizza also confirmed that investigators recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon: a folding buck knife, which was recovered in a pond.

    St. Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick confirmed Tristyn's body was found.

     Tristyn's death appeared to have been posted on Aiden's Snapchat account showing him in the back of a cop car, holding up a peace sign with the caption "hey guys has inybody [sic] seen Tristyn lately".

    Police confirmed the image was being reviewed as potential evidence in the case.
