ISIS' leader in Afghanistan and Pakistan is thought to have been killed in an airstrike.
Hafiz Saeed Khan is thought to have died in a bomb attack in Achin, Afghanistan in July.
The Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, Omar Zakhilwal, announced the leader was killed by a U.S. drone.
He said: "I can confirm that ISIS Khurasan leader Hafiz Saeed Khan along with his senior commanders and fighters died in a US drone strike on July 26 in Kot district of Afghanistan's Nangharhar province."
This was then confirmed by the US defence official.

Khan, a former member of the Pakistan branch of the Taliban, was reported killed last year.
The group denied the claims and his death was never confirmed.
It since emerged the rumours were false and the terrorist was killed last month.
