Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe claims he would rather be executed than go back to prison for ‘second life sentence’

THE Yorkshire Ripper has told pals he would rather have a fatal injection than go back to jail.

Peter Sutcliffe said being moved from Broadmoor hospital is like receiving “a second life sentence.”

The Sun revealed yesterday that Sutcliffe, 70, will return to a top security prison after doctors ruled he was "bad not mad."

He fears a young con will make a name for himself by attacking him and is furious he will be locked up with paedophiles, the criminals he hates most.

He said: “Going back to prison is like having another life sentence added on to the one I’ve already done. I’ve done 35 years and now they’ve given me another sentence.

“Who’d rather do life than have a lethal injection? Doing life’s a hell of a burden.”

Sutcliffe was given 20 life terms in 1981 for 13 murders and seven attempted murders.

He was moved to Broadmoor in 1984.

Families of Sutcliffe's victims have reacted positively to him being moved out of Broadmoor.

Denise Long, whose mother Maureen survived a 1977 hammer attack, told The Telegraph: "I don't believe he was ever ill, he was just pure evil.

"He knew exactly what he was doing."

Neil Jackson, son of Emily Jackson, who was killed aged 42, told The Mail: "I'm glad he is finally losing his cushy lifestyle, but it's not a moment too soon.

"He gets better fed in Broadmoor than I do and I work six days a week. Life has been far too easy for him up to now but he is in for a rude awakening."
