Man has his ‘throat slit’ before being stabbed multiple times in front of horrified families in Margate

Victim is in a stable condition after being airlifted to London hospital following attack

A MAN had his "throat slit" before being stabbed repeatedly in front of terrified families at a popular seaside town.

The victim was airlifted to a London hospital after he was knifed "four or five times" in Margate, Kent.

One witness described the attack on a man aged in his 30s at around 5pm yesterday.

In a Facebook post, they wrote: "A male was stabbed in both armpits, four or five times in the chest and abdomen, possibly in the groin area and also had his throat slit.

"It was in broad daylight and loads of families were about."

The victim is in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

His attacker is still on the loose as police appealed to the public for more information.

Detective Sergeant Sheena Barrell of Kent Police said: "The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unexplained.

"This area is frequented by a lot of people and we would ask anyone who believes they have details on this incident to call us on 01843 222289 quoting 12-1111."
