Children leap from window in terror after lorry ploughs into home, with driver, 33, arrested after police manhunt
A DRIVER has been arrested after a lorry "deliberately" ploughed into a house and forced horrified kids to jump out of a window in their pyjamas in the middle of the night.
The youngsters reportedly fled the property in terror after a maniac driver rammed into the home at around 11.25pm.
The motorist quickly fled from the scene after ramming into the house, but abandoned the truck on the other side of East Kilbride, Lanarkshire.
The Eddie Stobart truck was ditched near a Lidl store in the town, not far from the scene of the shocking smash.
A manhunt was launched after the incident on Monday, but last night cops confirmed a 33-year-old man was arrested.
Shocking footage showed the wreckage following the crash, with the home devastated by the targeted collision.
Photos showed debris and bricks strewn across the ground, with windows smashed and cracked amid the chaos.
A digger was later pictured demolishing the house, tearing the wrecked building to the ground.
It comes after nearby neighbours were evacuated from their homes as cops cordoned off the street and launched a probe.
Photos from a Lidl car park showed firefighters removing bricks from the damaged vehicle after it was discovered.
