Police arrest homeless man on suspicion of murder after a man is found dead in Poole flat

COPS have arrested a murder suspect after a man was stabbed to death in a flat in Poole on Sunday afternoon.

The unnamed victim, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene after police arrived at Wessex Road at 1.35pm.

A 49-year-old homeless man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder, and is currently being held by police.

Officials are currently appealing for any witnesses to the crime to come forward.

The victim’s next of kin are yet to be informed of the tragic killing.

Speaking on the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Devoto said: "Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will be carrying out high visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the community and can be contacted with any concerns."

that there were between 10 and 14 police cars attending the incident.

Local Paul Read said "There were no sirens, just a lot of police cars which turned up.

"Everything is sealed off around a particular house and part of the road and car park."

One resident, who asked not to be named, said: ""It's a shock because I live just down the road and I didn't hear anything."

He said the incident is "worrying", adding: "It's a quiet road.

"We never have any trouble."
