May must get on with Brexit as each delay just strengthens Remainers resolve for halting process
Each setback and every delay strengthens the establishment forces vying to stop Britain leaving the EU.
It’s why we were pleased to hear Theresa May declare “Brexit means Brexit” on becoming PM.
And why we’re concerned at reports the Government now thinks we won’t be out before 2019.
Next year’s French and German elections and problems at the new Brexit and Trade ministries have apparently made leaving trickier.
But with Brussels hankering after a Brexit plan and business desperate for certainty on our future trading status with Europe, the brains in Whitehall shouldn’t need three years to come up with a decent strategy.
Of course, no-one wants a rushed and flawed plan.
But when every hesitation is seized upon by Remainers eager to halt the process, it’s more important than ever that Mrs May gets on with making Brexit a reality.
We hope reports of a delay are nothing more than anxious whispers.

Spurred on by Corbyn’s loony leftism his trade union paymasters are returning Britain to the dark days of 1970s militancy.
Heathrow security staff, Virgin Atlantic pilots, postal workers and junior doctors are now threatening to join much of the UK’s rail network on strike.
The Labour Party has never been further from power, and this latest wave of industrial action looks like the left’s only means of challenging the Government – hurting millions of ordinary Brits in the process.
The PM should consider a strike ban for essential services – especially when a small number of staff can cause such massive disruption.
And if those involved don’t like it, they’re welcome to get other jobs.
The Government cannot sit idle while Corbyn’s union cronies hold the country to ransom.

Sam Allardyce is a no-nonsense football manager who knows his own mind.
So we’re pleased his first reaction when The Sun showed him the evidence against My Club Betting was to resign as brand ambassador and give up his shares.
The England manager can’t be associated with such a dubious venture – Sam knew it and he acted immediately.
That’s proper leadership.
