And tomorrow night on Channel 4, The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards will be broadcast at 7.30pm to celebrate their efforts and reveal the winners.

Presented by Davina McCall, our glittering awards ceremony — filmed earlier this week — featured Prince William, Kate Garraway, Gary Lineker and a host of top showbiz names.

But the real stars of the show are the nominees — extraordinary people from the health sector put forward for gongs by you, the readers.

Ex-England footie captain David Beckham said of the ceremony: “I was very emotional. I was holding back the tears, the whole room was.”

We honour heroes in 13 categories, including Best Doctor, Best Nurse, 999 Hero and Best Health Charity.
