Where did the tango come from?

THE tango is one of the most popular dances in the world.

Even with its extended history, it has not lost its influence.

Where did the tango originate?

The tango as we know it today first developed in Argentina during the mid 1800s.

The dance formed after an influx of immigrants with several different cultures moved into the country.

, including dances influenced from Africa and Europe, which created the tango.

Where did the tango become popular?

Poor neighborhoods in Buenos Aires quickly picked up the dance, which was dubbed "music of the immigrants."

Other areas in the city popularized the dance, and it was soon picked up by actors in theaters.

The dance reached New York in 1910, and by 1913, it was on of the most popular dances in the state, as well as in Paris.

When was the tango dance linked to tango music?

In 1910, Germany introduced the bandoneon to Buenos Aires. From there, the history of tango changed forever.

From this point on, tango dance has always been linked to tango music.
