A MUM cradles her newborn baby - after giving birth at 35,000ft.

One passenger caught the heart-warming moment after the unnamed woman went into labour two months early.

The newborn tot even received an early birthday present - as Cebu Pacific Air promised a lifetime of free flights with the carrier.

The plane was in the middle of journey between Dubai and the Philippines.

And despite diverting to India, the mum - who was not due until October - was forced to give birth while still in the air.

Witness Missy Berberabe Umandal wrote on Facebook: "The lady started having contractions mid-flight, about five hours while going from Dubai to the Philippines.

"She was set to give birth in October, so this came as a surprise, even to her mother.

"I am sharing this story purely because I find it very inspiring, but I never intended it to go viral.

"We only heard one semi-loud screech, and a few seconds later, there were tinier, cute screeches, and it was when we knew the baby was born."

Luckily, there were two nurses on board who acted as midwives.

The post goes on to describe how the mum only had to push once before giving birth.

It has now been shared nearly 4,000 times.

Many airlines do not allow women in the later stages of pregnancy to fly in case they go into labour on board.

British Airways does not allow women more than 36 weeks pregnant to fly.

While those giving birth to twins cannot travel after 32 weeks.

After passing the 28-week stage, pregnant mums-to-be must carry a doctor's letter with them when flying.
