A vampire who drinks blood and sleeps in a coffin has called in cops – after cyberbullies threatened to pull out his fangs and put a stake through his heart
Darkness Vlad Tepes, 25, calls for crackdown after being bombarded with abuse from people who disapprove of his lifestyle
A VAMPIRE who drinks blood and sleeps in a coffin has called in cops - after cyberbullies threatened to pull out his fangs and put a stake through his heart.
Jack Watchorn, who changed his name to Darkness Vlad Tepes, has been living as a vampire for the past 13 years and sleeps in a custom-made coffin.
The 25-year-old, who has drunk cows’ and pigs’ blood as well as a human blood substitute, is now calling for police to crackdown on cyberbullying after being bombarded with threats from people who disapprove of his lifestyle.
Darkness, who became fascinated with vampires as a teenager, said: “Being a vampire is difficult and of course there are struggles in everyday life.
“But I’m happy to stand by my choice.
“Social media has become an escape route for people to make threats and avoid being prosecuted.
“People can hide behind fake email addresses and profiles.
“But if it happens face-to-face you can be prosecuted.
“With social media there is not much the police can do about it – I think the law should be changed.
“It is about being able to go out in public and be able to dress how you want to without being judged by society.
“People get bullied in school and they think they are safe when they go home, but it carries on on Facebook.
“The comments get deleted when I challenge them.
“I give them an invitation to come and meet me, but they back down.
“If people are willing to meet you can explain to them all the facts and that we are genuine people.
“I am not an evil man and I give back to society.”
Lancashire Police confirmed they had spoken to Darkness, but said that no crime has been committed.
Darkness said he first became attracted to the vampire lifestyle as a teenager while living in Galway, Eire.
As part of his beliefs, he sleeps in a custom made-to-measure coffin that weighs 25 kilos is roughly 6ft 7in long –while he is 6ft 6ins tall.
He also has a strict balanced diet which stays away from fatty foods, and drinks cows’ and pigs’ blood, as well as a human blood substitute.
Darkness, from Blackburn, Lancs, said: “My life was always a secret until I came out two years ago.
“I first learnt about vampires when I was 13 and growing up in Ireland.
“I was taking my dog for a walk through the woodlands and I saw a group of girls dressed up and I thought they were zombies.
“I ran home because I was scared at first, but then I became really curious.
“One day I found them again, and they initiated me into their coven, and I have been a vampire ever since.
“To be a vampire is to believe that I have a living body but a dead soul.
“But I think there are a lot of preconceptions about being a vampire from films and books like Twilight or Dracula.
“Garlic doesn’t affect me and I can quite happily walk around in the sunlight.
“The coffin is purely a choice option to being a vampire, it’s one that I do because it feels right.”
