When did Dog the Bounty Hunter join the search for Brian Laundrie?

On Saturday, September 25, Dog the Bounty Hunter, also known as Duane Chapman, announced he was joining the search for Brian Laundrie.

Chapman started his search at Laundrie's parent's house, believing them to know of Laundrie's whereabouts.

Chapman insists on speaking to Laundrie's father because he understands what the parents are going through right now as he was once convicted of first-degree manslaughter in 1976.

Is Dog the Bounty Hunter injured?

Just a few weeks after joining the search, Chapman revealed that he had to return to Colorado for treatment after injuring his ankle while hunting Laundrie.

Despite leaving Florida, reported that Chapman is leaving behind a "talented team" of local members to continue in his absence.

He calls them the "Florida Team," but it remains unclear who is actually apart of it.

Did Dog the Bounty Hunter find Brian Laundrie?

Brian Laundrie's remains were officially identified by the FBI on October 21, 2021, after an extensive search at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

Dog the Bounty Hunter had no assistance in discovering Laundrie's remains.

The FBI released a statement after it was confirmed on October 21 that the human remains found in the search for Brian were bones.

The statement read: "On October 21, 2021, a comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T. Mabry Carlton Jr. Memorial Reserve and the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie."

Bertolino confirmed that Brian's parents were informed of the finding, saying: "Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the remains found yesterday in the reserve are indeed Brian’s.

"We have no further comment at this time and we ask that you respect the Laundrie’s privacy at this time."

On November 23, 2021, Laundrie's cause of death was revealed as suicide by a gunshot wound to the head, his family lawyer said.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide," lawyer Steve Bertolino said of Gabby Petito's fiancé's death.

"Chris and Roberta are still mourning the loss of their son and are hopeful that these findings bring closure to both families.”
