Natascha Kampusch tells how she suffered vile online abuse after escaping from dungeon where she was held hostage for eight years

The 28-year-old Austrian’s new book details her life after her kidnap horror

BRAVE Natascha Kampusch, who was kidnapped aged 10 and held in a dungeon for eight years, has revealed she was abused online by sick trolls.

The Austrian, who escaped the clutches of depraved Wolfgang Přiklopil in 2006, has written about the vitriol she is still subjected to despite being free for a decade.

Extracts from the 28-year-old’s new book, which deals with her new life after the dungeon horror, she revealed she is insulted via letters and online – and has even had marriage proposals from strangers.

She said: “I must have hit a nerve in these people.”

Natascha also confessed to encountering “thousands of enemies” on the internet and was once confronted by an angry old woman while shopping.

She said: “I fled from an enemy and suddenly I had tens of enemies, in some internet forums even thousands enemies.”

The strong victim also detailed the swarm of media attention she received after the kidnapping – which even resulted in her getting her own short-lived talk show, which ran for three episodes.

She said: “It seemed to me sometimes as if children were trying to save a strange beetle.

“Argue about who should hold him, and crush him at the end of eagerness.

"The patients in the psychiatric ward were the most normal in all the madness.”

In another section of the riveting read, the determined victim discussing the intense pressure to reveal details of the sexual assaults despite her still being a teenager.

She said: “The constant demand to divulge even more, it was if they [the media] wanted to expropriate me on individuality and privacy for a second time of my right.”

And the role model also says she gets abused because of her steely and stoic attitude which she credits to her survival of the kidnap nightmare.

She said: “Nevertheless you will be sure to never see me cry in public or collapse sobbing.”

Her second book is dedicated “to all those brave women who fight for their independence, in the hope of a free, self-determined life.”

Natascha's first autobiography, 3,096 Days, was published in 2010 and detailed the snatching ordeal and her life with sick Přiklopil.
