Shocking moment heartless thug beats up a DOG outside London branch of Co-op
RSPCA trying to track down abusive owner
THIS is the disgusting moment that a dog owner was caught on camera beating his pet outside a London supermarket.
The clip, filmed by an horrified witness and handed over to the RSPCA, shows the petrified pooch cowering away while the man repeatedly punches it in the back to make it stay still.
The animal charity released the footage in a bid to track down the heartless man and to make sure the pet is ok.
The horrific abuse took place outside the Co-operative store in Benwell Road, Holloway, at around 12pm on Monday.
RSPCA inspector Clare Dew told the publication: "We received a call and have been sent footage showing a man repeatedly punching a dog in the back, trying to get him to sit down, outside the Coop supermarket in Benwell Road in Holloway around midday on Monday.
"This behaviour is completely unacceptable, the dog is clearly frightened of the man who is attempting to get him to sit while he waits outside the shop.
"I’m keen to speak with the man as soon as possible and check on the welfare this dog and make sure he is alright."
The dog is described as a brown medium-sized bull terrier type breed. The man is wearing a bright blue t-shirt, navy jeans and had short dark hair.
Anyone with any information can leave Inspector Dew a message via the RSPCA inspector’s appeal line by calling 0300 123 8018.
