How do I change the time on my TV and will it update automatically when the clocks change?

GET ready for summer Britain as the clocks change at 1am on March 27.

Just like you need to update the time on your phone and laptops, you also need to do so on your TV.

How to change the time on my TV?

Some devices update automatically but some others need to be updated manually.

This is the case especially if you just bought a TV manufactured in a different time zone, for example in Asia.

Changing the time on your TV is important to synchronise with your TV channels and show you the correct timings for when programmes are scheduled.

So make sure to follow the below guide, or else you'll end up missing the football or a new episode of your favourite show.

Here's how to change the time on your TV.

  • You need to use the Home button and select the TV's settings.
  • You will then need to look for a term like "System," or "System manager."
  • From the dropdown menu, you will need to select "Date and time" or "Clock."
  • You then need to Set the time zone or enter the current time and date.

Will my TV automatically update when the clocks change?

Additionally, you can program your device to change the time automatically.

Simply select "Automatic time zone" when access the above pages.

That way your TV will automatically change the time twice a year and you can avoid the hassle of having to remember to change it yourself.

This year, the clocks will go an hour forward on March 27, and that is when British Summer Time (BST) begins and we start having an extra hour of daylight.
