DINERS are falling over themselves to run-up monster bills at Salt Bae’s restaurant – with one person splurging a staggering £2,274.70.

The bill included £1,450 for the precious-metal-encrusted “golden giant tomahawk” steak – which weighed in at two kilos.

Also on the cheque was a £100 burger, £30 for fries, £100 dessert, £18 water, £50 coffee and £12 for a side of mash.

Alongside the huge total was a service charge of £296.70 – 15 per cent of the bill.

The Turkish-born former butcher - Nusret Gokce - has just opened his latest restaurant in London and prices at Nusr-Et are off the scale.

Another person shared a snap of her bill – complete with an YSL designer handbag in the background – on Twitter with the words: “Not so bad, ey.”

She ran up a £608.35 total and compared to a person who had spent £1,812 at the Knightsbridge restaurant last month, as revealed by The Sun.

MasterChef food critic William Sitwell said of a recent visit to the restaurant: “We eat the steak with soft, creamy spinach and good chips. The steak is impeccable - but worth the £300-odd we pay for it? I'm struggling how they get to that mark, even with gold leaf.

The celeb chef has been slammed multiple times over the astonishing prices in his London restaurant.

A bill from Nusr-Et Steakhouse in the capital shows the hungry diner paid out a whopping £1,812.40 in total.

The receipt shows the customer bought a single 'golden burger', which cost £100, a £23 salad, two prawn tempura rolls costing £60, and a £10 corn on the cob.

The priciest item is a £630 'giant tomahawk' steak, which is covered with gold leaf.

However, even smaller items come with a hefty price tag.

An onion flower costs £18, while a Coke is £9 and a Red Bull is £11.

The only item on the menu without cost is Turkish tea, which is apparently served for free.

Telly cook Tom Kerridge also blasted Salt Bae - but his comments backfired when people slammed him over his own restaurant prices, which include £87 for a steak.

'UTTER SHOCK'

Tom's staff sparked a celebrity chef steak war after creating a sign with Tom as the face of a prime cut of beef and it read: “Tom-ahawk steak. Not £630.”

The chef shared a snap of the sign on Twitter with the caption "Saltbae steak: £630 Some peace and quiet: priceless."

But his followers pointed out the irony and slammed him over the prices at his posh eatery The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Bucks.

Meanwhile, Gemma Collins has revealed her shock at paying £1,450 for Salt Bae’s gold wrapped steak.

The former Towie star, 40, dined at the opening of the Instagram sensation's new Knightsbridge restaurant last week.
